Getting Home at Night
After a night out on the town, It's important to remember how to get home. Most nightclubs close at around 2.30, dumping all their patrons out onto the street. Here’s a quick guide on how to get home after a night out.
Taxi
Taxis are the quickest and easiest way to get home after a night out on the town. It's usually quite easy to get a taxi in Dublin city centre at night but there can be long queues at taxi ranks at the weekend. Be warned- many taxi drivers will not stop for people who are visably drunk. A taxi from town to Trinity Hall should cost no more than €12.
Night-Bus
Taxis are quite expensive, especially if you’ve spent all your money on drink. On Friday and Saturday Dublin Bus run their own Nitelink service. See their website for more information.
Walking
Walking home at night should always be a last resort. If you’ve absolutely no money, you’ve missed the last night bus and you can't afford a taxi. Then maybe, walk home. Dublin is a big city, and like all big cities it isn’t really safe at night. Avoid walking alone, make sure you know the area well, and stay to well lit streets. Again LAST RESORT!
